Wilson Asiimwe

 

Wilson Asiimwe was a Senior Research Fellow at Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR) between 2000 and 2010. In addition to his postgraduate education in population studies, Wilson has attended various courses to develop his professional skills. He has supported Government of Uganda and various development partners to execute various development programs.

He has conducted consultancy work for numerous international organizations such as; Hewlett Foundation, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United Nations Educational, Scientifc, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation, Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), World Economic Forum (WEF), Research Triangle Institute (RTI), Family Health International (FHI360), NORC at the University of Chicago, among others.

He is a member of reputable professional associations such as; African Network for the Prevention and Protection Against Child Abuse and Neglect, African Evaluation Association, Technical Support hub of the International AIDS Alliance, Association of Management Consultants, National Policy Development Forum, among others.

When Makerere Institute of Social Research changed its research agenda, Wilson championed the founding of Centre for Social Research (CSR) to continue offering policy research services to various clients. Mr. Asiimwe was nominated for 2012 Pearl of Africa Lifetime Achievement Award (PALITA) for his contribution to policy research. Wilson is currently the Division F Director, Toastmasters International (TMI).

TMI is a global leadership and communications organization with headquarters in the United States of America. Wilson is also a certifed professional Transformational Coach trained by Coach Masters Academy (CMA). He also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Africa Business Development Committee of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He has recently coached clients with leadership challenges and those struggling with mindset shift. More so, he has coached a few clients with challenges executing ground-breaking innovations.
