2021 is a year in which we paused to reflect on what we had done in the previous two and a half years, and stretched for insight, to look into the future, as we undertook a midterm review of our first five-year strategic plan. We all agreed that the long-term goal should be philanthropy that works and civil society that thrives. What a year!

One of the first meetings we held in 2020 was to define our path. We chose the words excellence, growth and soul as our guiding star. At that time, we could not have predicted how our lives would be greatly up-ended and how we would need to cling to these words to get us through 2020. Where did the time go? That’s the thought on my mind as I sit to reflect on all we’ve accomplished as a team in 2019. The days seem to have flown by. As I look back, I know in year two of CivSource, we stepped out in boldness and style!

We held our first ever CEO retreats. We held an all-female and an all-male CEO retreat in January and February respectively. we knew we wanted to provide a retreat experience for leaders. But how to make it meaningful? How do you invite people to a process that has no program? A process where you come and literally allow the facilitator to take you by the hand and gently guide you towards your soul? More
